What is the scientific method?
- Ask a question.
- Research the topic you’re asking the question about.
- Form a personal opinion of what you think the answer will be. This is your hypothesis. It is not a wild guess. It should be an educated guess based on previous research.
- Test your hypothesis by performing an experiment.
- Draw conclusions after examining your data from the experiment. Did your hypothesis hold up after analyzing your data? What happened? (We can learn a lot from our mistakes sometimes. Some of the greatest inventions were born out of flopped experiments. It is a learning experience.)
