Scientific Method

What is the scientific method?

1. Ask a question.
2. Research the topic you’re asking the question about.
3. Form a personal opinion of what you think the answer will be.  This is your hypothesis.  It is not a wild guess.  It should be an educated guess based on previous research.
4. Test your hypothesis by performing an experiment.
5. Draw conclusions after examining your data from the experiment.  Did your hypothesis hold up after analyzing your data?  What happened?  (We can learn a lot from our mistakes sometimes.  Some of the greatest inventions were born out of flopped experiments.  It is a learning experience.)
