Here are some guidlines to follow to submit your project and participate in the fair.
- Age requirements:
Participants 9 years old and under may enter a collection, demonstration, or experimental project. Examples are under the Getting Started section – “5 types of projects”.
Participants 10 years to 18 (must not have graduated high school) MUST complete an experimental project where they follow the scientific method. Information on these types of projects can be found under the “Getting Started” and “Scientific Method” menu pages. - The project must be the student’s work. Parents are allowed to guide and supervise, but the child must carry out the ideas, draw conclusions, put together the science display, and ultimately present their projects to the judges. ***Parents are not allowed to be with the student at the time of judging.*** There will be a place for parents to sit during the judging.
- All entry forms and fees are due by Friday, January 22, 2016 . No extensions, unless in extreme circumstances.
- All students must agree to have their project in place at the Family Life Center at Graceway Baptist Church (5010 S Farm Rd 135, Springfield, MO) between 8:15 and 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 27th. They must leave their board up until the end of the award ceremony at 4:00 p.m.
- All displays must be no larger than a 3′ x 4′ trifold board. Each participant will have the same amount of display space. Please do not bring any hazardous chemicals or items to display. If you need power, you must request it by January 22, 2016.
- Please remember that this building is being graciously offered to us at no charge, and we want all participants and families to be respectful of the property and facility. Please do not run and play through the exhibit area. We do not want to damage anyone’s hard work or cause disruption to those being judged. Help us to keep the building clean and in the same shape as before we arrived.
- Please dress appropriately for presenting yourself to the judges. This means different things to different families, but we ask that you not present yourself in a sloppy or uncaring way.
- Enjoy the learning process and have fun!!
