Many science projects take time to complete. If you are growing something, etc., you will need to think and plan ahead. If you have 8 weeks before the science fair, you can use this schedule as is. Some things can be combined if the timeline is shorter.
Week #1
- Choose your topic.
- Organize your notebook.
- Ask questions.
Week #2
- Research your chosen topic.
Week #3
- Finish your research.
- Define your problem.
- Develop your hyposthesis.
- Design your experiment.
Week #4
- Turn in an experiment summary to your parent/teacher for approval.
- Gather all needed materials for your experiment.
- Start your experiment.
Week #5
- Set up an outline for your project report.
- Continue your experiment.
- Begin collecting materials for your display.
Week #6
- Continue your experiment.
- Write the first draft of your project report.
- Sketch some designs for your display.
Week #7
- Finish your experiment.
- Revise list of materials needed for the experiment and the steps of the procedure, if necessary.
- Analyze your data, and draw your conclusions.
- Revise the project report.
Week #8
- Complete your display.
- Edit and type the final draft of the project report.
- Prepare for the fair.
